Information on Patrick Kelly, The Queen's West Surrey

Can anybody help me, I am trying to find out about Private L/10906 Patrick Kelly. Queens West Surrey Reg. to see if he is my Grand dad.

The medal role says that L/10906 Kelly went to France on the 13-12-15. it also says he was awarded the Silver War Badge - SWB List E/1215

This all seems to fit with what I know of him - he volunteered, and was subsequently very badly wounded in the head and had to have a metal plate fitted.

I have looked through the remaining service records and they don't survive for this soldier.

Can anybody help? Does anybody have a copy of the SWB Roll that they could look him up for me.

Any help would be much appreciated. I would love to bring this old soldier out of the shadows.

Thanks

Rob

The SWB List is under WO329/3042 at Kew. It will give you dates of enlistment and discharge and reason for discharge, together with number, rank, unit and name of soldier. Nothing to confirm his identity, though if you have a SWB for him it's number can be checked against the List.

For interest his British War and Victory Medals are in WO329/647 page 1728,which again will show the unit he served on first landing in France.

I also checked for a pension record just in case, but found nothing.
