Chris Noble Posted 25 April , 2010 Share Posted 25 April , 2010 Hi. I will be brutally honest as regards myself, jeez, has my head been 'pickled' about one service record of a 10th East Yorks lad! Here you go. Attests: 9/8/16 (i would presume a conscript and age of 18 years) Mobilized, 16/2/17. As regards the above, i can't make out the record, but it would suggest, T.R.B. I have checked the LLT Home Page for mention of the 261st, but, 'no joy' as they say. I presume then, that the latter is part of the re-designation of units, mid 1917. Posted to France, 1st East Yorks via I.B.D., then wounded at the latter year of 1917. Anyhow, in the end, after recuperating from wounds, killed in action 1918. Where was the location of the 261st Infantry Battalion. My own thoughts are Rugely? Kindest regards. Chris.

Chris Noble Posted 25 April , 2010 Author Share Posted 25 April , 2010 Hi Chris. Many thanks for that link. It's the 'affiliation' or no 'affiliation' at this stage of the War that has 'thrown' me. Kindest regards. Chris.
