Alan Tucker Posted 24 April , 2010 Share Posted 24 April , 2010 Which regiment?
Stebie9173 Posted 24 April , 2010 Share Posted 24 April , 2010 The two Regiments with that sort of plume (and no scroll) are the Royal Welsh Fusiliers and the Royal Scots Fusiliers, so it depends whether the lower part has a Fleur-de-Lys or a lion & unicorn coat of arms. I think it looks more like a Fleur-de-Lys, hence my money is on Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Steve.
malch Posted 24 April , 2010 Share Posted 24 April , 2010 Looks like RSF to me. Then again...............

Andrew Upton Posted 24 April , 2010 Share Posted 24 April , 2010 RWF - it cannot be the RSF as the Royal Arms fills the entire space of the circular part, and the picture clearly has a band running around the edge (a perfect match for the band which would contain the "Royal Welsh Fusiliers" name on their badge). Tyneside Chinaman Posted 24 April , 2010 Share Posted 24 April , 2010 Its the organisation that Robert Graves was proud to belong too. and several Jocks of the RSF are rotating in their graves at the thought of it being identified as their badge. Rob B Posted 24 April , 2010 Share Posted 24 April , 2010 I think we all have deduced its the RWF badge on an officers SD hat, the RSF would wear the badge on their Glengarry, being ex RHF I was twitching a wee bit! Rob
7t2ndswinger Posted 24 April , 2010 Share Posted 24 April , 2010 The collars are very distinctive RWF, bronze dragons on grenades.
