Terry Posted 22 April , 2010 Share Posted 22 April , 2010 Having just picked up a trio and plaque to a member of this battalion killed that day, I wonder if any forum members might have details on the unit's participation in this battle? Cheers, Terry
connaughtranger Posted 23 April , 2010 Share Posted 23 April , 2010 Hi Attack on Hillside Work, Vis-en-Artois. If you PM me your email address I'll send you a copy of the CO's report. Might also have a Corps map Regards Martin
JimSmithson Posted 23 April , 2010 Share Posted 23 April , 2010 If Martin doesn't have maps I have the divisional maps for the attack. Not as much detail (the CO's report will give you more than any diaries) otherwise as most of my stuff is for April. Same idea - PM me. Terry Posted 23 April , 2010 Author Share Posted 23 April , 2010 Thanks, guys. I will pm you. I note that this fellow's medal index card states his unit as 2nd Bn (his arrival in F/F was 1 April,1915) while the 5th Bn didn't arrive on the continent until 20 May. Obviously he must have transferred to the 5th in time to lose his life. Cheers, Terry
