This is my first post here and I'm hoping you Military Eggheads can help with some family history.

Pte A Perks and Pte F Perks are both shown on Shirley St James Memorial.

I believe these are Albert Perks service no 9607 1st Royal Warwicks-died 11 Apr 1917 and Frederick

Perks 15th RWR service no 17581 died 25th April 1917.

Neither CWGC or SDGW give any further details as to their ages or parents etc.

I'm trying to find out if they were granddad's brothers, cousins etc.

Can anyone help please ?

Welcome to the Forum. I have found a Frederick Perks born 1898 Shirley Warwickshire son of George and Sarah on Ancestry 1901 census, cannot find Albert as yet. Any relation ? Ralph.

No reference to the deaths of either in the Birmingham Weekly Post.

Thanks for the quick reply,he was my grandadad's younger brother and Albert was an older brother

born 1887.

The problem is there are lots of branches of the Perks side of my family and they all seemed to use

recurring family names and the military records do not give any information as to family or their ages.

Soldiers service records do record the N.O.K. , and the pension records list wife and marriage date, along with any childrens names and d.o.b., if any.
