MartinThwaite Posted 21 April , 2010 Share Posted 21 April , 2010 Hello Pals, I'm trying to research the actions involving these two Regts, 5th Lancers up to 1917 and 6th East Yorks up to 26 Sep 1916. My step father's uncles (J Colgrave DCM & C Colgrave- see sig) were serving in these Regts. Had a look on LLT but not too much info. Obliged for any help/pointers Regards, Martin

Patrick ODwyer Posted 21 April , 2010 Share Posted 21 April , 2010 We have an expert member here on the 5th Lancers - Cairan I think. May be worth a search for past posts on the unit.

malbeckly Posted 4 July , 2010 Share Posted 4 July , 2010 Hi Martin In clearing out paperwork after my mother's death, we have inherited a few old photos of my grandfather and realised we knew very little of his background (as usual, it was never discussed). Searching on the internet has brought me to your posting. My grandfather is Colin Colgrave. Are we related? Reading more about him from the replies to your post has been very enlightening.
