Help . I am trying to find information relating to my g/father. He was Sgt Thomas Ollerton a regular in the Loyal North Lancs regiment

His number was 14185 and after the South African war he was on special reserve He enlisted in 1914 and entered France 24/09/1915.I have his medal card with the following information Victory and British medals H/2/101B6 849 and 15 Star H/2/4A 20 All these letters/ numbers mean nnothing to me. I assume they are pages in some files. He went through the battles of the Somme, Ypres,Menin Gate. In his last battle he was wounded and taken prisoner. In some camp or hospital his arm was amputated. I would like to find out in which camp or hospital this happened. regards Vince fingers crossed

Hi Vince

This explains about the medal cards - http://www.1914-1918.net/grandad/mic.htm

and this about pow's - http://www.1914-1918.net/grandad/pow.htm - so the only way would be to apply for any records and see if they have those details, being captured it would be a German hospital so I dont know if those details are there.

regards

Robert
