Beselare Posted 18 April , 2010 Share Posted 18 April , 2010 I am involved in a tricky piece of family research for a friend. The soldier died in 1920 as a result of gas inhalation - but where he was gassed is a mystery. It is believed he was in the Somme area at the time. He was in the RGA and the only clue we have is the number BB 38412. Does anyone know what this might indicate? Many thanks Bob Findley Beselare Belgium
daggers Posted 18 April , 2010 Share Posted 18 April , 2010 Putting that number, without the mysterious 'BB', into the search on National Archives Documents online shows a medal index card for one RGA Gunner, Henry Macdonald L. Walker. Could this be your man? If not, posting his name here will give more possible scope for research, as it is a very wide field. D
