Evening Everybody

Can anyone help with information about A. Matthews of the RFA? Here's what I have already from his War Grave and the CWGC

Driver

No.2 Depot

Died 25/11/18

Aged 48

Son of Matilda & william Matthews

Husband of Sarah Ann Matthews of 2,House, 1 Court Church St, Moxley

Interested in anything in addition to the above.

Any assistance will be much appreciated.

MATTHEWS, Albert Head Married M 40 1871 Press Forger Wheel at Rope Works Willenhall Staff

MATTHEWS, Sarah Ann Wife Married 16 years F 36 1875 Bildton Staff

MATTHEWS, Matilda Daughter Single F 15 1896 Willenhall Staffs

MATTHEWS, Percy Jubilee Son Single M 13 1898 Rope Twing Willenhall Staffs

MATTHEWS, Tannie May Daughter Single F 6 1905 Willenhall Staffs

MATTHEWS, Rowland Son Single M 0 (5 MONTHS) 1911 Willenhall Staffs

Living at 29 Church St, Moxley, Wednesbury, West Bromwich

Not on SDGW

On the MIC's at TNA there are a couple of Percy J's in the RFA - could be the son

I'm afraid I can't find anything on the military side at all. No MIC, Service or Pension Records. He was obviously in uniform when he died, or of direct results of his service, however, he may not have served overseas to qualify for an entitlement of medals.

Hi

He's on the 1871 census aged 6 months born 1870, will be 4th quarter. He had a few brothers and sisters. 1881 his mum is shown as married but dad not present. He married Sarah Ann Dudley 3rd qtr 1894,Wolverhampton. 6b,949.

No.2 Depot.........

Is this the name of a location.......in order that I can ascertain his whereabouts.......

or the name of his unit?

Either way.........where was No.2 depot on 25/11/18 ??

Not 100%, but possibly the RFA's second Depot in the UK

maybe where training was done and equipment went before being shipped overseas
