B-Battery (75th Brigade) ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY.

Would like to know if B-Battery (75th Brigade) Royal Field Artillery lost any men 19th April 1916 in support of the Guards at Wieltje,and any war diary info on that day and leading up to it related to 19th April 1916.

I can't answer your question completely but 'Alfred Farrell Stanway - War Service History' (http://freespace.virgin.net/john.elkin/afstanway.htm) has the following:

19 April 1916: "B Battery, 75th Brigade RFA in action providing support to repel attack in the Wieltje Salient."

Thanks Dick,i saw this Stanway diary on the internet related to the Wieltje Salient,my Great Uncle was killed there 19th April 1916 in the Wieltje Salient (4th Battalion Grenadier Guards) so i am putting together as much info as possible.

SDGW gives no info on which unit of the six RFA soldiers who died on that day. One of them is Theatre Austria so can be discounted. The others were checked to CWGC and four of them have no link to 75 Bde RFA. The other one appears not to be on CWGC,he is Gunner EB FOTHERBY 80630 RFA so we don't know his unit.
