Good Day All,

I'm looking for any information on the gentleman above. 36832 Pte. Uriah Stone's records do not seem to have have survived the Blitz, but I have found his MIC which says that he was transfered to the Royal Defence Corps at sometime and that he was entitled to the Victory and BWM. He was also issued with a SWB, could be something to do with the transfer.

Does the service number give any idea on which Battalion Uriah would have been with and if yes, a possible enlistment date and a date of entry?

The SWB list number is shown as T.P/5374 if by any chance a pal might have the Manchester lists.

Best Regards. Llew.

After doing a quick search on the 1901 census, this chap looks a likely contender,

Uriah Stone, born abt. 1894 Chadderton, Lancs, son of Fred & Mary.

Do any pals have a link to Chadderton?

Regards. Llew.

Not mentioned on the Oldham Chronicle CD (available from Manchester & Lancs FHS).

I think the service number is early Derby Scheme or thereabouts
