Hi everyone,

I recently found this photograph of a RAMC soldier. Is it possible to tell his rank from the photo and also a date based on his uniform and badges?

Many thanks, David.

Almost certainly a Lieutenant, as he has what appears to be two pips on his right shoulder, and almost certainly post-war going by the thick chinstrap on his cap.

Based on the rather thick chinstrap I would think this was post war, 1930's?

I never seen those thick straps on great war period photos or caps.
