Tim Wright Posted 11 April , 2010 Share Posted 11 April , 2010 My great uncle Sgt John P Freeman 265809, 8th Battalion Gloucestershire regiment was killed on the 6th June 1918 and is commemorated on the Soissons Memorial. I have tried to obtain a book which covers the 8th but to no avail, would any forum member be able to help me with some information on his possible whereabouts when he died? My next task will then be to obtain some information regarding my grandfather Charles Edward Freeman, he was taken prisoner whilst serving with the 2nd Devons on the 27th May 1918 in their famous battle at Bois Des Buttes, he was released on the 29th of December 1918. My search relating to my grandfather is regarding which POW camp he would have been in and its whereabouts. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. Tim.
