Here is the picture that my cousin found for me of my ggreat granfather, he is the one standing. It looks to me that this picture was taking in Iraq before he died, But this doesn't tell it was the Black watch does anyone have any ideas

I had assumed the Black Watch still wore their kilts in Iraq, perhaps not I will check, however one clue, the pith helmet on the stand tends to suggest tropics / desert.

Edit had a quick check of a book about the 2nd in Mesopotamia, a mixture of kilts, breeks and shorts in the pictures.
