Verrico2009 Posted 10 April , 2010 Share Posted 10 April , 2010 I ran the British Army Service Records 1760-1913 on FindMyPast and this is the only John Thomas Savage it came up with (plenty of Johns, though):- First name(s): John Thomas Last name: SAVAGE Calculated year of birth: 1870 Parish of birth: Wexford Town of birth: Wexford County of birth: Wexford Age at attestation: 22 years 4 months Attestation date: 4 April 1892 Attestation corps: Grenadier Guards Attestation soldier number: 3642 Discharge rank: Discharge corps: Discharge soldier number: The National Archives reference: WO97 / 3808 / 72 There are 6 pages in total but I don't subscribe and don't have credits for that. Assuming you're right and he was a PoW, this was the closest I could get with an MIC search:- Name: John T Savage Regiment or Corps: 2nd South Lancashire Regiment Regimental Number: 1229 http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documen...Edoc_Id=5229241
