Family reasearch

Hello all

Once again i have been showing off about how great you lot all are and now have a new challenge for you

A work friends family are trying to do their family tree and have come up with 4 brothers from Hinkley in Leicestershire we think, who may have served i wonder what anyone can find out at all ?

The Family name is DILLEY , again anything would be great , we think they were from Hinkley but that may be a red herring

anyway they are Frederick born 1888, John William (apparently a much used name) Born 1883, Arthur Born 1890 and finally Ambrose Born 1896.

Thanks again for looking

Also 1911 Census

John Wm Dilley 22 Hosiery Finisher b. Leicester

Florence Dilley 21 wife Tailor Finisher b. Leicester

Elsie Marriott 10 Boarder Scoolgirl b. Leicester

Married 1 year 40? Friday Street, Leicester

May not be your John William if he was born 1883, but working in hosiery seems very coincidental.

Great stuff , the William & Louisa in the first post are right, blimey how many children ? , there was a story that some family menmbers did serve in the Leicester Yeomanry so again this seems about right, I wonder if there is any service records or if the MICs tell us anything

Thanks again Rich M

Rich,

There's nothing extra on the MIC and no service records seem to be forth coming. Some kind soul might be able to check the medal rolls or the SWB list for additional information. I'll get the information required and post it on this thread.

Regards. llew.
