Hett65 Posted 6 April , 2010 Share Posted 6 April , 2010 Serjeant 10425 John Rae Nelson of the 7th Battalion Seaforth Highlanders was KIA 16.8.1915, can anyone assist in the location that battalion was fighting at this time, or have a war diary for that date. Thanks John
Guest Posted 6 April , 2010 Share Posted 6 April , 2010 Hi John don't have diary, but 7th bn were part of 26th Brigade 9th Scottish Division. The Division History only says they were inspected by Kitchener around that time between Locon and Hinges. " 7th (Service) Battalion Formed at Fort George in August 1914 as part of K1 and attached to 26th Brigade in 9th (Scottish) Division. Moved to Aldershot and in January 1915 went into billets in Alton. Moved on to Bordon in March 1915. Landed at Boulogne in mid May 1915.
