Ceinwen Posted 4 April , 2010 Share Posted 4 April , 2010 Hi Can anyone help find the MIC for this soldier Harry Gilbert Bick. He was in the RAMC and his army number was 2177. He was with the 3rd South Midland Field Ambulance and died on 21/04/1915. I've found him on the CWGC website and the SDGW but can't find an MIC for him. He is buried in Gloucester Cemetery and apparently died at St Thomas's hospital (I think if memory serves correctly, certainly in a London hospital). Not sure if he served in France or elsewhere abroad in the war. Any help gratefully received. Thanks Ceinwen
sotonmate Posted 4 April , 2010 Share Posted 4 April , 2010 C SDGW shows that he died at Brough (RAMC-speak for the UK). I found no MIC for him either. The 3rd South Midlands Field Ambulance shipped out to France as part of 48 Division between 20 March and 3 April 1915,at which point they were concentrated at Cassel, approx 30kms WSW of Ypres. I would say that he wasn't there with them,no MIC no foreign service. It might be that your subject missed out on the initial move through sickness. grantowi Posted 4 April , 2010 Share Posted 4 April , 2010 He Died in Lambeth, aged 28 according to GRO Lambeth / 1D / 261 / 2qt / 1915 SDGW show him as a TF, so maybe he didn't go overseas Grant
