Remembered Today:

Second Bullecourt.

Was wondering if anyone has a breakdown of casualty figures for the 5th Brigade AIF (17th, 18th, 19th and 20th Battalions) for Second Bullecourt?

I have seen a total casualty figure of 7482 Australians. Am wondering if a more detailed breakdown is available?

Thanks,

Scott

Waddell

The Bean Official history gives a figure of 1,463 for 17, 18, 19, 20 Battalions & MG Coys etc. The 4 Australian Divisions lost nearly 7000 during second Bullecourt. The histories are available at

http://www.awm.gov.au/cms_images/histories/5/chapters/12.pdf Part 1

http://www.awm.gov.au/cms_images/histories/5/chapters/13.pdf Part 2 (with breakdown of losses)

The whole lot are at http://www.awm.gov.au/histories/first_worl...p?levelID=67890

Thanks Tew,

For some reason I hadn't noticed the second part of Second Bullecourt in the official history. That's what I was after.

Scott.
