Guest kathleenshepherd Posted 3 April , 2010 Share Posted 3 April , 2010 This is my first post. I thought this might be a good place to ask from those with more knowledge than I have and maybe would like to help me do a good turn by returning family history back to the family. My partner found dog-tags while metal detecting about the 1980,s in Australia and put them aside and forgot about them. Two I can read, one I can't. So I'll start with this one of John Fahey. I thought it would be great if I could find the family the dog-tags belong to and send them home, but I have no idea how to go about this. Any help would be wonderful. What I have is: Fahey John H or A? can't quite make the letter at the end out. 39161814 T ?11 Bertha Fahey 4701 E 58th Street Maywood Calif Sincerely, Kathleen

IPT Posted 3 April , 2010 Share Posted 3 April , 2010 Speaking of Google, you can put the above address in, click maps and then go into Streetview and look at his house.

Dave Thanks Croonaert and everyone. This gives me some avenues to look up. Would the Bertha Fahey be his next of kin, mother or wife? I might be able to find a family tree on-line. CROONAERT Posted 4 April , 2010 Share Posted 4 April , 2010 Would the Bertha Fahey be his next of kin, mother or wife? Its his NoK. Probably (as you say) his mother or wife, but could also possibly be his sister (or ,less likely, an aunt or a cousin) Dave
