I'm trying to establish if Private John Collins of the 8th Royal fusiliers No. GS767 obtained the Military Medal.

Would CWGC show it? If they do, there's no mention of one:-

He has a Medal Index Card that suggest such as well as his Campaign Medal Index card.

If you obtain the Card it will show the Date of the LG:~

The MM would only be shown if the NoK had informed the WGC of his award.

He was awarded the MM in the LG of 19th September 1916 {Supplement 21st Sept 1916}

It was one of 13 MMs, together with three MCs and four DCMs, awarded to 8 RF for its successful attack at Pozieres on the night 3/4 August 1916.

I had looked at the LG but nothing came up in the searches - having said that I don't have much luck searching the LG.

Looks like a trip to TNA to look at the war diary for 3/4 August
