acarrick Posted 1 April , 2010 Share Posted 1 April , 2010 I'm researching Sgt Herbert Ferrand KIA 25/4/15. The CWG website (and De Ruvigny's) says 1/4th Bn East Yorkshire but the MIC says "TF6" which I take to be 6th Bn Territorial Force; am I right or does it signify something else? joseph Posted 1 April , 2010 Share Posted 1 April , 2010 Hi, TF 6 was his number in the 4th Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment. Regards Charles
River97 Posted 1 April , 2010 Share Posted 1 April , 2010 Andrew, As a side note, are you aware that 20 pages of his service records are alive and well on Ancestry? Makes interesting reading - they state KIA 27 April 1915. Also served in South Africa 1900-01. Cheers Andy.
acarrick Posted 2 April , 2010 Author Share Posted 2 April , 2010 Thanks for that info brethren. I'm registered on Ancestry but hadn't found all the service info, but knew he'd been in the Boer War. That picture is great, where did you find it? His house was just off Pearson Park in Hull, it's still there.
