Wondering if anyone has the above war diary and if it mentions Hervey Lancelot Swallow. I am researching a local school and he was the brother of the headmaster.

Additional information: St. George. Son of the late Rev. W. Swallow, M.A., and Mrs. W. Swallow.

Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead

Grave/Memorial Reference: Panel 105 and 106.

Memorial: LOOS MEMORIAL

Is the reference to St George a clue to the Church the late Rev was the vicar? Or is that the school?

many thanks for that, i have his photos family album and goods photos of him with his brother and father. I googled everything else but not his name, I'll see waht I can turn up from weston flavell or contact the the york and lancs direct.

I have war diary for the 10th Bn Y & L. 2nd Lt Swallow is mentioned as being wounded at Loos. I can send you a copy if you can send me your email address. I hope his helps
