Can any member give details of the Gazette date for the award of MSM to 37065 David Haney, Royal Engineers. Believe award won at Salonika.

There is a Book of MSM Citations 1916-1928 (Naval and Military Press) ISBN9781843420187.

There is certainly one in the Library at Kew Archives.

Do you have any date information ?

I think you will find that all its gives is the number, rank, name and regiment or corps and the gazette date. There were a couple of hundred awarded for gallantry, but I don't think the citations are in that publication. Non-gallantry awards have no citation. Once you have the date, check the war diary on the off-chance, and his local newspaper if you know where he comes from.

Terry is right ! It's my first time in looking in that book,though I had made a note of it's presence whilst looking at the DCM books a few months ago.

The entry merely says his name,rank,and unit and the number of the LG ref, 6954.
