Beselare Posted 27 March , 2010 Share Posted 27 March , 2010 Today (Saturday, 27th March), I took two people to see their great-uncle's grave at Voormezeele Enclosure No.3 Cemtery near Ypres. I am seeing them again on Monday morning before they return to the UK. I am hoping that between now and then, someone might be able to tell me where the 11th Battalion of the Essex Regiment were on 28th May 1918. There are a total of four 11th Battn. graves at Voormezeele. Armed with that information, I am hoping to be able to locate the approximate position where their relative was killed (Pte. John Henry Tandy, No. 251965) and take them to see the site. If you can help, but not before Monday morning, please let me know anyway and I will send the information to them by post. Many thanks Bob Findley Beselare Belgium

Beselare Posted 28 March , 2010 Author Share Posted 28 March , 2010 1 Dear Brig-Gen. Many sincere thanks for such a quick reply. I am now completing transferring the trenches named and will be transferring the data to a large-scale map. The two people I am assisting will have a very pleasant surprise tomorrow morning.
