Overseas Service Chevrons

I picked up this recently. I think they are overseas service chevrons, but are they? If so how long after the war could they be worn/ were they worn?

Yes, they're the ones. The was a red one for service in 1914 and each blue one was for a complete 12-month period overseas - not necessarily a calendar year. My Grandfather got one red and three blue. He went to Flanders in October 1914 and stayed with his Battery until 1st July 1916, when he was invalided to England. He then went to Salonika in March 1917 and was out there until January 1919. That gave him 18 months from January 1915 in his first stint and 21 months for his second, which only adds up to 39 so three chevrons.

I'd say the chap who won these probably served into 1919.

Thank you.

Yes, I think you are right about 1919. He was in Mespot. But he did not get there until 1917. I can't find any prior service overseas. I suspect it was not his (it came with another item) unless post 1919 service counted (eg Turkey) which I doubt.
