brimarge Posted 24 March , 2010 Share Posted 24 March , 2010 Wonder if anyone can help with this, did KR 365 help get his sentence reduced. Brian "Albert was 'absent' from 30/3/1918 until 9/4/1918. He was awarded 28 days detention on 10/4/1918 for his period of "absence". The entry you've stated looks like "365" to me, so Paragraph 365 of King's Regulations. I've no idea what that Paragraph states but it has something to do with the fact that his sentence was remitted after serving 18 of the 28 days on 28/4/1918"
Guest Rundberg Posted 24 March , 2010 Share Posted 24 March , 2010 Brian, Paragraph 365 is under "SECTION III. CONTINUOUS, NON-CONTINUOUS AND SPECIAL SERVICE" and states the following: 365. Non-continuous Service.-Men and boys entering from the shore for non-continuous service are to be required to answer the questions and sign the declaration set out in form S. 56, which is to be forwarded to the Accountant-General with the return on form S. 52. They may be required to serve for a period not exceeding five years from the date of their entry. 2. Remaining Abroad.-Non-continuous service men who volunteer to remain abroad, on their ships being ordered home, or to continue serving after being paid off or after completing their current engagements, are to be called upon to sign a fresh engagement (form S. 56) for a further period of five years which will date from the day of its execution. 3. Leave.-Non-continuous service men discharged on paying off are not entitled to any paying-off leave, except as provided for in Articles 873 and 358, clause 8.
