27thBN Posted 23 March , 2010 Share Posted 23 March , 2010 I having been meaning to ask for a while if anybody knows why especially on RFA and RE and ASC medals why some have the full unit and other have just RFA or RE/ASC on them I have a DCM,MM group to a RFA man and the MM has D/129th Batt on it ie full unit details and the DCM only has his name, number, rank and MM then RFA ? Thanks MC
rflory Posted 24 March , 2010 Share Posted 24 March , 2010 For RA MMs the general rule (which has exceptions) is that for those gazetted up to the Armistice the medals have the brigade/battery, but the London Gazette only shows RFA, RHA, RGA or RA, while for those gazetted after the Armistice the medals have RFA, RHA, RGA or RA and the London Gazette gives the brigade/battery.
