greatbeanbags Posted 23 March , 2010 Share Posted 23 March , 2010 Have just read a forum topic about football in the Great War. The image posted came with my wifes grandfathers personal papers - he was 18222 George Ernest Snell 1st Bn. Essex Regiment. His story is on the forum. We don't have an image of George as a young boy or in uniform. Perhaps he is in this picture? Most likely kneeling in kit front left from the picture we have of him in the 1950's. The 1911 census has George as a Coalmans assistant living in Grays in Essex with his mother & sister. Are Langley Grove Juniors an Essex side perhaps...... they look older than a school boy team......perhaps made up from young apprentices or warehouse clerks? Any info about Langley Grove Juniors would be much appreciated. Thanks.
