Louise/Sabine. According to SDGW disc he enlisted in BRISTOL, Ancestry records have the enlistment/resident boxes reversed. Ralph.

thanks, Ralph and Louise,

st judes, I found even the street where his parents lived, so now a roll on honour or memorial or a news paper clipping,

He should be in the london gazette or not?

was there a newspaper in the bristol area, I bet there was.

kind regards

Sabine

The 'Bristol Times & Mirror' & 'Western Daily Press' were both around at the time of WW1. Microfilm copies are available at the Bristol Library, next to the Cathedral.

Nick,

thank you,

I'll have to contact them and ask if they would like to look it up and make copies.

since I'm living in belgium, and have no plans in the first month's to visit bristol, that's the only option.

kind regards

sabine

Sabine, If you use Google Maps, then you can also use the Streetview option, as if walking down the street, to get an even better view. Just click on the small "man" symbol and you should get into Streetview. A little playing around and you can tilt, rotate change direction etc...

I'm sure you have his CWGC info.

I'm trying to read the romantic gesture in this present, but I'm sure that's what he meant!!
