Hi Guys

We have been given 5 new (new to me anyway) guns for restoration. One is a British 6pndr AT gun (of no interest here).

The other 4 are:

13 pndr, no limber (our second one of these to do, they are diffecult, lots of work)

7.5cm Mountain gun L/17 Model 1908

10cm leichte Feldhaubitze 98/09

Krupp 10.5cm M1892(rare example here)

Will begin to collect them on Tuesday (Monday is a holiday), should take 2-3 months.

Let the games begin!

How many surviving WW1 guns are there in South Africa? Is there a website documenting the surviving guns?

Regards,

Charlie

We have 950 odd cannon and 350 odd guns on display. Which are of WW1 vintage is a little diffecult to separate out and some of the gun we have are WW1 and were still used in WW2 (the 6" 26CWTs are good examples of these). There is a book coming out with a "complete" list (a list like this is never complete). I have the draft but have agreed not to share the details pending publication.

I will keep you informed.
