Steve11 Posted 18 March , 2010 Share Posted 18 March , 2010 In reading the HAB/HAG War Diaries I often see reference to batteries firing on N. F. Targets. Can anybody tell me what N. F. means? Steve
Chris_Baker Posted 18 March , 2010 Share Posted 18 March , 2010 "Now Firing". It means the enemy battery had been spotted in action.

sjustice Posted 28 March , 2010 Share Posted 28 March , 2010 Steve/Chris, Just to square this off; 'NF' calls invited fire on an active hostile battery without promising observation. The 'ANF' call invited same, but offered to range the battery selected by the artillery commander. Cheers, Simon
