This is Z/4015 Able Seaman Francis Henry Tebbutt. He is my Father in Laws Uncle. He died on 13/11/16 during the assault on Beucourt / Ancre valley. Last November I took Chris to see his Uncles grave..the first time ever a family member (apart from me) had visited his grave in the Ancre British Cemetery. He served with the Nelson Battalion. I have visited his grave over a number of years since I researched him. His family always thought he died at Gallipoli.

Chris kindly entrusted me to keep his 14/15 Star and last Sunday gave me this p/c. I am very honoured and it is a most treasured possesion.

I post it here as a lovely tribute to a young man and also a lovely image of a RND uniform and cap tally taken at Crystal Palace I guess early in 1915.

I just wanted to share and I shall pay my respects at his grave next week.

Probably wrong sub forum...sorry!
