Athousandsons Posted 12 March , 2010 Share Posted 12 March , 2010 Hello I've only recently discovered that my great grandfathers youngest brother served with the above unit. At the age of 37 Edward O'Donnell was attested December 1915 & posted to France 1916, he returned home April 1919. Edward never married & died in 1939 & unfortunately is buried in an unmarked half grave in Gateshead. Without wishing to sound too melodramatic I want record as much as possible of Edward's contribution to this world changing event & perpetuate the memory of a man who has no other memorial. To that end I would greatly appreciated any help in finding out where I might find details of the service history of the 343th 1916 to 18. I found the link to the forum through Your family Tree only last night & immediately lost several hours! Absolutely fascinating site.
