343th Road Construction Company RE

Hello I've only recently discovered that my great grandfathers youngest brother served with the above unit. At the age of 37 Edward O'Donnell was attested December 1915 & posted to France 1916, he returned home April 1919. Edward never married & died in 1939 & unfortunately is buried in an unmarked half grave in Gateshead.

Without wishing to sound too melodramatic I want record as much as possible of Edward's contribution to this world changing event & perpetuate the memory of a man who has no other memorial. To that end I would greatly appreciated any help in finding out where I might find details of the service history of the 343th 1916 to 18.

I found the link to the forum through Your family Tree only last night & immediately lost several hours! Absolutely fascinating site.
