Has anyone any knowledge of this?
I have a photo of Herbert Williamson as a gunner but do not know where in Italy he was posted or which unit he served in.

Hi Swab

Might be a an idea to post this on the appropriate Italy subforum as well or instead of. Someone will know where this has been taken.

Swab,

looking at his cap badge, he is not Royal Artillery/Garrison/Field/Horse.

Rgds Paul

Don't know about his cap badge, but how about his left shoulder lanyard?

The lanyard is a common item so doesn't mean that he was in any given regiment and I'd agree that his cap badge is not Artillery. The Order of Battle for the British in Italy is given at the Long Long Trail.
