Remembered Today:

Which order for both a MM and a MC?

Hello, Sorry if this seems an insipid question, however I can't find a conclusive answer and am sure this is basic stuff to the Forum members.

Assuming an NCO wins the MM, is later commissioned and wins the MC, what would be the correct order for wearing both these ribbons on an OSD jacket?

Cheers, Bill

It doesn't matter what the rank the individual was when the MC, or the MM were awarded.. its the MC which is the senior decoration.. thus, is shown first.

Class got everywhere!

Not entirely: a VC trumps everything ;)

Until 1992, a Cross outranked a Medal (e.g. Distinguished Service ... for the RN; Military ... for the Army and after April 1918 Distinguished Flying ... and Air Force... ) and took precedence regardless of order of award. The Medals were done away with then and all ranks now get the respective service Cross

Even there, as I recall officer recipients outnumber other ranks.
