Does anyone recognise this piece of Insignia as belonging to a WW1 Regiment, Battalion Bde Div etc? Dark green cloth. Used evidence its been on something.

thanks

Want to say yes, Irish insignia? Not sure why but thats what came to mind when i first saw it.

Sure to be shot down in flames but thats what springs to mind, without checking my divisional signs. If no ones pops along I will dig them out and see if I can match it up.

Regards

Andy

Hi

Possibly 103 (Tyneside Irish) Brigade HQ personel wore a Green Shamrock.

Others worn were 24th Bn Red, 25th Bn Blue, 26th Bn Purple and 27th Bn Black

When 24th and 27th became 24/27th Bn the Black was superimpose on the red

regards

John
