Tyneside Chinaman Posted 4 March , 2010 Share Posted 4 March , 2010 Hi Can anyone tell me what the armband these is that this group are wearing. It is dark possibly Green or Red with S.C. or S.G. stitched on. Two of them are wearing rifles buttons however the shoulder titles are curved brass and the man rear right is wearing an obvious T/Numeral/Title. All ideas gratefully received - I have looked at the thread on armbands and can not see it there. Close up Close up

wainfleet Posted 4 March , 2010 Share Posted 4 March , 2010 I wonder if this might be Sanitary Company, though against that they are all pretty smart and not obvious candidates for this type of work.
Grovetown Posted 5 March , 2010 Share Posted 5 March , 2010 Not one recorded in Joe and Grumpy's 'classic' compilation. Sanitary sections wore SAN in red letters on yellow brassard, or - by 1923 - just plain yellow. Best wishes, GT.
wainfleet Posted 5 March , 2010 Share Posted 5 March , 2010 Of course - Section not Company!
Muerrisch Posted 5 March , 2010 Share Posted 5 March , 2010 The band could be yellow, on ortho film.
