I'm sure that Pals will be interested in the changes to the GRO's fees for obtaining birth, marriage and death certificates which will come into effect from 6 April 2010 - see http://www.ips.gov.uk/cps/rde/xchg/ips_live/hs.xsl/1569.htm. Thre will no longer be a reduced fee if you can supply the index reference, so in effect the fee will rise from £7 to £9.25 to obtain a certificate from the central GRO.
