The Inspector Posted 3 March , 2010 Share Posted 3 March , 2010 Hi All I have two boxed pairs with the original medal covers and as well as the Name, Number Rank, Regt and Page number on the front of the white cardboard boxes it appears that they were sealed by stcking another identification label onto the back and round the edges of the box. These labels have a blue line drawn across them. Having checked out the details on these labels from the MIC's on Ancestry both were awarded 15 Stars and the page numbers on the blue line labels relate to the Brit/Vic awards not the 15 Stars. Was it common practice to use up labels in this way??? Regards Barry
HarryBettsMCDCM Posted 7 March , 2010 Share Posted 7 March , 2010 It would appear so to be I have a number of these boxes & most have "unrelated" labels used to seal the boxes for dispatch. HB
