Attached a blown up copy of the photo I have lost. My cousin sent me this email copy.

It is my Gt Gfather in his St. Johns uniform. We think it was taken after he had

been to Buckingham Palace to receive a St. John's medal. He later became a

Commissioner in St Js.

Photo shows St J medal along with military ones - any idea what the military ones

might be?

He served in TA with 22nd Middlesex V.Rifle Corps (Service Record shows he changed

from 22nd to 12 Bn in 1908) and 12th Bn County of London Regiment from 1908. He re

engaged each year with 12th from 1908 to 1913 but was refused in 1914 and discharged

"in consequences of being found medically unfit for further service".

I suspect they are just Coronation type medals.

Any help would be appreciated.

My regular point out - it's St. John, not St. John's (no S on the end).

likely to be

coronation (police ) medal 1902

coronation (police) medal 1911

Both were also awarded to St John Ambulance as well as police and other civilian services

Yep, the group is:

1. Serving Brother of the Order of St John

2. 1902 Coronation Medal - ('police type') St John Ambulance reverse most likely

3. 1911 Coronation Medal - ditto - ditto

4. St John Long Service Medal and Clasp.

The 1902 one is bronze, the 1911 silver.

The Coronation Medals to StJAB are not common, especially to officers (see article below).
