The Kentish Men might like to know that the West Kents museum will shortly have reprints of the following books about the Regiment available.

1756 – 1881 (50th Foot) – Col. Fyler

1824 -1881 (97th Foot) – Lt Col Chaplin

1881 – 1914 – Lt Col Chaplin

1914-1920 – Atkinson

1914-1918 (1st Battalion) – Molony

1914-1919 – Brown

8th Battalion – Wenyon

1920-1950– Lt Col Chaplin

1951-1961– Lt Col Chaplin

That's great. Glad to hear it. Always happy to support the local museum.

But for me personally it's a shame. I was only there in October last year, on a flying visit- you only had the 1st Bn, 97th history and Barnes "Dirty Half Hundred", all of which now have pride of place on my bookshelf. I'd have bought the lot in a flash.

I'll be contacting you to get prices and p&p to the US. I assume these are the N&M reprints.

Can anybody tell me the major diifernces between the Brown book and the Atkinson book, both of which cover the same period (just about)?
