Good Day All,

Could anybody help with information on the above? Diary entries for April 1918 would be greatly appreciated.

Regards. Llew.

Would a Trench Mortar Battery have a diary?

I've just discovered that Arthur Herbert Sterland 195527 RGA is my great uncle, and any information would be greatly appreciated.

Regards. Llew.

I think they were part of 8th Divisional Artillery, designated W Heavy Mortar Section. There were 4 sections, X, Y, Z sections being Medium Mortars.

If I am correct then they would have been supporting 8th Division during battle for Villers Brettonneux and would have been located near the town as this was the *th Division's sector.

Thank you gentlemen. I've got a friend who goes down to Kew on a regular basis and he will have a look at the documents when he's next on site.

Regards. Llew.
