John Cubin Posted 12 February , 2010 Share Posted 12 February , 2010 Those three map references are in the diary of the 8th SLI for May 1918. My map cd doesn't have anything west of Hebuterne 57D NE4. Does anyone have a map covering the relevant area, please?

The map reference seems to be J rather than I, though these were once one and the same letter. If you PM me with your email address I'll happily send you a scan Regards martin
tootrock Posted 12 February , 2010 Share Posted 12 February , 2010 There is a map on the McMaster website that shows the area in 1918. Depending on how far west you are, either I or J could be part of the reference. J.16 and J.15 are northeast of Bus-les-Artois, and I.15 and I.16 are in Authie. Hope this helps. John Cubin Posted 12 February , 2010 Author Share Posted 12 February , 2010 Thanks you both for responding. I've sent a PM to Martin Connaught. I hadn't thought of McMaster, Martin Tootrock, so thanks for the lead. Cheers, John.
