Hi, Im new to this having only posted a couple of times, but on one of my posts john mentioned cretes de tentes, so i did a search and found this newspaper report i thought might be of interest to you, if it hasnt already been done??.

Any way it starts

War Office,

6th December, 1916.

The Secretary of State for War has received

the following despatch from Lieutenant-

General G. F. Milne, C.B., D.S.O.,

Commanding British Salonika Army:—

Headquarters,

British Salonika Army,

8th October, 1916.

There is a list of men at the end who get a mention, maybe someone you are researching??.

The London Gazette links have changed since I posted these, but the Gazette numbers should allow you to find them:

I'll try and update the links later.

Steve.

This is very helpful. I have a copy of the following document, relating to my grandfather H H E Wyatt. He is listed on the 11th page of the Gazette

The war of 1914-1918.

Army Veterinary Corps

No.SE/1206 Pte.[A/Sjt] H.H.E.Wyatt

was mentioned in a Despatch from

Lieutenant General G.F.Milne CB. D.S.O

dated 8th October 1916

for gallant and distinguished services in the Field.

I have it in command from the King to record His Majesty's

high appreciation of the services rendered

and it is signed Winston S. Churchill, Secretary of State for War
