Hi

Long shot here..can anyone who owns a copy of Walkers please check to see if a Walter Payne is listed as a recipient of DCM he may have been RFA....No other info sorry.

to any call made upon him. More than

once he has been responsible for maintaining

supply of ammunition and rations under

trying and difficult circumstances. His skill

as farrier serjeant had much to do with the

battery maintaining its mobility up to the

end of operations
