Can anyone advise me what medals these are and what they are given for. They were in my grandfathers effects. Any info would be appreciated. He was with the Canadian Light Infantry Expeditionary Force and enlisted about 1915.

Sherry,

they'll be the British War & Victory medals, have a look and see what name is stamped around the outer rim.

Would the unit be "P.P.C.L.I."? Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. His enlistment record is available online, and the page will give you details on how to order his service record.

Hi, thanks for the info. He could have been with ppcli, however, the form says Canadian Light Infantry, so this is puzzling. I will check out the link and see what I can order. Cheers Sherry
