fpawsey Posted 30 December , 2009 Share Posted 30 December , 2009 Hello! According to his Service Records, my husband's grandfather had his pay forfeited on two / three occasions and I wonder why. The excerpts from his Service Record read: 1)Forfeits 6 days pay R W absent Dep 6 days pay 14.6.15 Absence 2)Forfeits 14 days pay 11.10.15 Were they not paid when having leave, for instance? Would pay have been deducted when personal tragedy back home meant a 'home visit'? Or why else? I'd be interested to know of anyone's thoughts / knowledge on the matter. Thank you. centurion Posted 30 December , 2009 Share Posted 30 December , 2009 I suspect that the 'absent' refers to absent without leave (AWOL). Dockage of pay was usually a punishment for an offence.
