Guest Mikee Posted 28 December , 2009 Share Posted 28 December , 2009 I believe this is a WW1 dog tag belonging to my great uncle, William Elliott, and would be grateful for any help in deciphering the information it contains. I know he eventually joined the RMLI and was killed in North Russia in 1919 but the service number (?)on the tag is completely different to his RMLI records. However, there is a family "legend" that says he tried to enlist in the army when he was too young and was returned to his parents when he was found out. I wonder if this tag is related to that event.
