corisande Posted 26 December , 2009 Share Posted 26 December , 2009 There seems no easy way to find all cemeteries for the Salonika campaign on the CWGC site. I am not sure that I have searched them all for Royal Dublin Fusilier burials. I have searched the ones below, are there any that I have missed ? I am unsure where the fallen for Kosturino were buried, if indeed any were. River97 Posted 27 December , 2009 Share Posted 27 December , 2009 If you follow this link here it will take you to Terry Denham's IFCP website where the CWGC Cemeteries can be searched by country. There are a few others on there that you can add to the list. Cheers Andy.
corisande Posted 27 December , 2009 Author Share Posted 27 December , 2009 Andy Really great link, thanks very much, just what I needed. No point in my trying to reinvent the wheel when someone has invented it already!
SALONIKA Posted 30 December , 2009 Share Posted 30 December , 2009 Skopje British Military cemetery-WW1.
corisande Posted 30 December , 2009 Author Share Posted 30 December , 2009 Thanks for the Skopje hint. However there are no RDF there. I tried it before as I thought that it was an obvious burial place for the RDF, but the Skopje Military Cemetery only has 118 graves, mainly RASC who died in the influenza epidemic after the armistice. SALONIKA Posted 3 January , 2010 Share Posted 3 January , 2010 My friend I wrote this on the forum in the past. According to the local population stories: After the big battle in Kosturino December 1915 Bulgarians broke a front line. All dead bodies of British soldiers were thrown in a big hole. The hole(in Kosturino field) was dug by the Bulgarians and the local population.
